Beckville ISD board approves probationary contracts for eight teachers and a counselor

The Beckville Independent School District Board of Trustees returned to open session at 7:15 p.m. on June 8 and approved a series of employment contracts for instructional staff. Trustee Justin Davis moved to offer a one-year, 10-month plus 10-day probationary contract to Mason Bobo as a teacher/coach; Trustee Patrick Harris seconded and the vote carried unanimously. Subsequent motions approved 10-month probationary teacher contracts for Courtney Hudnall, Sarah Funderburk, Victoria Stumpf, Jill McLemore and Regina Register; a one-year, 10-month plus 10-day probationary teacher/coach contract for Hope Johnson; and an 11-month one-year term contract for Casey Abernathy as counselor and 504 coordinator.
Superintendent Devin Tate was present for the personnel actions. The minutes record that each motion was made and seconded by trustees in attendance and that each vote carried unanimously. The approvals finalize contract offers for the listed individuals; the minutes do not record any debate or public comment on the hires.
