Mike White told trustees that the district had launched a virtual learning academy intended to capture students and described operational and reporting considerations for the pilot. He said the virtual pilot would initially target grades 6–8 expansion and cited a proposed 200-student cap for planning purposes.
Mr. White also flagged potential voucher impacts: he reported 123 voucher applications submitted by current BISD students, largely Tier 1 with siblings, and warned trustees those applications — and potential voucher growth in PK–Kindergarten — could affect enrollment assumptions and revenue.
