As part of the budget workshop, Chief Financial Officer Mike White presented specific compensation proposals intended to address midcareer teacher pay and paraprofessional wages. The presentation recommended a 1% increase of midpoint for certified teachers and projected a similar 1% midpoint adjustment for other staff, with District of Innovation employees excluded from the baseline increase.
Mr. White also proposed that life-skills and behavior paraprofessionals be moved up one pay grade and recommended increases to minimum pay grades for paraprofessionals. Trustees asked for a historical comparison of staff compensation percentage increases to better evaluate affordability and competitiveness.
