Board adopts 2026–27 LCAP, adds Character Strong action

The board adopted the district's 2026–27 LCAP, confirming three goals—basic services, increased academics and climate and culture—and approving several actions and metrics to carry the plan forward. Staff noted the addition of a Character Strong program as a district-wide action to support social-emotional learning and school climate.
"This is our same 3 goals of basic services, increased academics, climate culture ... A couple of new actions, the character strong," Superintendent Crane said while summarizing the plan. Staff explained that the district will use supplemental and concentration dollars strategically to consider class-size impacts and other supports tied to the LCAP goals.
The board adopted the LCAP after the required public-hearing interval and a motion on the record; the vote was recorded as unanimous. Staff said they will continue to present implementation updates as data from local indicators and healthy-kids surveys are finalized.
