The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on several formal actions April 9.
Trustees approved an exemption claim related to Texas Senate Bill 546 reporting on school bus seat belt compliance. The motion was made by Trustee Melody Fowler and seconded by Trustee David Wilbanks; the vote was recorded as 7-0 in favor. The board also approved a modified transportation plan for Blanton Elementary, adopting a blend of options and locating one HUB at the school; the motion was made by Trustee Brooklyn Richardson and seconded by Trustee Melody Fowler, also passing 7-0.
During the business portion the board voted to terminate the probationary contract of employee Justin Thompson. The motion was made by Board President Justin Chapa and seconded by Trustee Larry Mike and recorded as passed 7-0. The board later approved the consent agenda, which included minutes of prior meetings, purchases greater than $100,000, instructional materials and technology allotment expenditures for 2026-2027, personnel recommendations, and a joint election agreement and contract for election services; the consent motion passed 7-0. Motions and vote tallies were entered into the official minutes.
