Board member Tommy Keeter moved to propose a maintenance and operations rate of $0.6754 and an interest-and-sinking rate of $0.30 for the coming school year; the motion passed with all members recorded as voting yes.
The proposal emerged during a budget workshop held as part of the July 27 meeting. The board did not adopt a final tax levy at the meeting but formally proposed the combined rate. Superintendent Jon Hartgraves provided a budget update to the board during the meeting. The district will follow required public-notice and adoption steps before any tax rate becomes final.
