Board approves Elizabeth Baker as coordinator of safety and security

Chief communications staff introduced Baker’s background, saying, "Elizabeth Baker brings over 2 decades of experience, including 10 years of military service as a cryptologic linguist and an intelligence analyst." The presentation also summarized her 10 years teaching physics and computer science at Mesquite High School and subsequent counseling roles, including lead counselor responsibilities. A board member moved the appointment, it was seconded and approved 7-0.
After the vote trustees offered congratulations and several board members noted the candidate’s blend of military intelligence experience and school counseling as an asset for district safety planning.
