Hutto ISD trustees weigh priorities for 'Inspire 2028' goals: student achievement remains top focus

Staff said 48% of students met the 'meets' grade-level standard last year and compared that to the state figure: "That means 48 percent of our kids overall were on the meets grade level. To give you context, the state was at 50 last year," a district presenter said. Trustees and staff discussed complementary measures (MAP, mClass, CCMR) and trade-offs — for example, stricter discipline enforcement can increase referrals even as it aims to improve instructional time.
The board asked staff to pull baselines and reporting metrics on CCMR, growth measures and program usage so trustees could set clear, measurable priorities at a future meeting. Administration said it would return with data and suggested performance reports over the summer for board review.
