At its Nov. 10 meeting the Big Spring ISD board approved several routine but substantive items: employment recommendations for the 2025–2026 school year, acceptance of multiple donations totaling $3,700, approval of a posted library book procurement list, and adoption of Policy Update 126 as recommended by TASB Policy Service with localized changes.
Julie Harris moved to approve employment recommendations (including Christopher Borey, elementary teacher at Marcy Elementary); Jesse Salazar moved to approve donations, which included $1,000 from Prime Services Company to the high school golf fund, $1,700 from the Softball Booster Club to the softball fund and $1,000 from Shannas Oilfield Service, Inc. to the BSHS BBQ Teams fund. Bert Otto moved approval of the library procurement list and Policy Update 126; motions carried universally (6-0) for these items. Minutes record no closed session took place regarding personnel matters that were listed on the agenda as potential closed items under Texas Gov't Code §551.074.
