Engineer says county may assist with paving at Mill and Zion; CDBG application filed for First Street Playground sidewalks

Engineer Nassar reported he had contacted the County Engineer about final restoration and paving at Mill and Zion and said the County "was not opposed to the County helping with paving" and that the County "had an on‑call contractor and it would help us financially." He asked Mayor Chau to send a letter to County Executive Levinson; the minutes record that such a letter was sent the previous day. Nassar said he expects to finalize survey work and then send specifications to vendors for bleacher installation, and that Municipal Aid submissions are due by July, for which he needs Council guidance on which streets to include.
Councilman Dewees said he had suggestions and would speak with the engineer; Mayor Chau raised a separate drainage concern on Roosevelt Avenue off Tilton, and Dewees noted the County is aware and was considering a concrete gutter solution after completing survey work. The engineer left the meeting at approximately 6:21 p.m. and did not return.
