The Bellville Independent School District board reconvened from a closed session and unanimously accepted the resignation of Child Nutrition Director Alyssa Werner and approved the superintendent’s summative evaluation on motions carried 7–0. The resignation acceptance was moved by Sarah Buenger and seconded by Kirby Cannon; the vote recorded Kirby Cannon, Sarah Buenger, Jim Batson, Grant Lischka, Kenneth Stein, Regina Gillum and Heather Novicke voting yes.
The board then approved the superintendent’s recommendation to appoint Julie Smith as the new Child Nutrition Director on a motion by Sarah Buenger, seconded by Heather Novicke; that motion also passed 7–0. The board additionally approved Guardians for the 2026–2027 school year and took formal action on the superintendent’s summative evaluation (motion by Sarah Buenger, seconded by Kenneth Stein), each by unanimous votes. These actions followed an executive session convened at 7:25 p.m. for personnel deliberations and consultation with legal counsel.
