District operations staff reviewed several near-term projects and scope changes during the capital improvement update at the May 21 meeting. Mr. Jurek reviewed the OBI demolition schedule — demolition slated for June 1 (removal of awnings and portables), abatement starting June 8, and dirtwork for parking starting June 22 — and described project additions such as dumpster relocation and an expanded interior paint scope at OBI that would include repainting the kitchen. Mr. Jurek stated that those paint items are included in budget amendments on the consent agenda.
Mr. Jurek also reported an expanded scope at OBP to include exterior painting (also included in the consent agenda), updated striping for BJHS and OBI car‑rider traffic patterns to designate a bus‑departure space, and noted options for adding new bleachers to BHS Tennis Court 1 that will be presented to the board separately. These timing details and scope changes were presented as part of the Agenda Review materials and reiterated at the regular meeting.
