Forest County approves routine purchases, training travel and bills totaling tens of thousands

At their Sept. 3 meeting, the Forest County Board of Commissioners approved a range of routine department requests and bills. Motions carried unanimously to purchase two pairs of duty boots for $320.00 for the Sheriff's Office, central supplies for $89.12, and CJAB meeting supplies for $120.00. The board also approved sending newly appointed Auditor Cris Long to the Annual Auditors Conference in Warren, PA (registration $100, meal plan $100, lodging $305.27) and authorized Cheri Switzer to attend a personal property/sheriff sale training in Harrisburg Oct. 15–17, 2025 with lodging estimated at $129 per night.
The board approved payroll and bills showing General Fund bills of $54,591.41, Transportation bills of $23,480.75 and Children & Youth bills of $8,520.62. The commissioners also approved personnel hires: part-time driver Liz Winger at $10.70/hr effective Sept. 8, 2025 and part-time cleaner Patricia Leicher at $10.71/hr. The board authorized a $16,446.86 transfer from the Election Integrity Grant Account to reimburse county election expenses and a $179.32 payment from the 911 Account to Rural Edge, LLC for GIS services (Invoice #04).
