At a May 18 meeting in Mont Belvieu the Barbers Hill Independent School District Board of Trustees elected new officers for 2026–27.
On a motion by Mark Wilson, seconded by Benny May, the board "move[d] to nominate Becky Tice as President of the Barbers Hill ISD Board of Trustees," a motion that passed on a recorded 7–0 vote. Subsequent motions elected Benny May as vice president and George Barrera as secretary; each motion passed 7–0 with full, recorded roll-call votes.
The reorganization followed administration of the oath to newly elected trustees Clint Pipes and George Barrera earlier in the meeting. The newly elected officers will serve for the 2026–27 school year. No further conditions or contested nominations were recorded in the minutes.
