Council approves permits for Jazz Weekend, Scarecrow Weekend and two homecoming parades

The business alliance also sought street-closure permits for the annual Scarecrow Weekend and approval for two moving parade bubble closures for the high‑school homecoming dates (Oct. 2 and Oct. 16). Staff told the committee the Scarecrow plan mirrors last year and that homecoming parade costs (estimated at $9,000 per parade) would be absorbed by the city. The committee recommended approval for the listed event permits.
