Mesquite ISD board recognizes veteran teachers, Apple Corps honorees and state All-State students

Trustees honored longtime teacher Diane Nicks for roughly five decades of service and inducted district Apple Corps teachers including Kaylee Beach and Nathan Spradlin; several students and bands advancing to state competitions were acknowledged.
The board paused routine business to recognize longtime educators and students. Trustee Everett read a state senate resolution honoring Diane Nicks for a career spanning roughly 50 years with Mesquite ISD; trustees and staff offered brief tributes.
The district also inducted two Apple Corps honorees — Kaylee Beach of McWhorter Elementary and Nathan Spradlin of Ochsiger Elementary — and acknowledged several students who earned TMEA All-State band and choir honors and marching-band area championships. Teachers and school leaders accepted recognition on behalf of students and sponsors in the audience.
Board members thanked honorees for long service and encouraged continued community partnership; student participants were invited to stand and be recognized during the meeting.
