Fire Chief Troy Madland presented the Fire Department's annual report to the board and participating towns and reviewed operational highlights. He reported 196 EMR responses during the past year and said the department logged 256 hours of unpaid extra training and maintenance.
Madland told trustees that Kildare's contract increased by 3 percent and that the department was awarded a 50/50 DNR grant totaling $3,600. He said four new members will attend an entry-level fire class at WWTC in New Lisbon beginning in February and noted that the Juneau County Fire Fighters Chiefs Association will hold its quarterly meeting at the Fire Station the following evening. Chief Madland also said the village is awaiting a response from a Ho-Chunk representative regarding proposed funding for the department.
The board heard the report and noted the grant award and upcoming training; additional funding discussions will follow as the village awaits the Ho-Chunk representative's reply.
