Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Klein updated the board on enforcement activity concerning a property on Rose Street. She reported that an earlier citation resulted in a guilty verdict and that two more citations have been issued and are moving through the court system.
Trustees instructed the clerk to consult the Village Attorney to determine how the village may enforce prohibitions on operating a business in an area zoned residential. Clerk Klein noted the village currently does not issue business licenses, which factors into enforcement options.
The board did not take immediate further enforcement action at the meeting and asked the attorney for legal guidance on potential remedies or ordinance changes to address business operations in residential areas.
