During the Sept. 9 meeting, district administrators provided routine reports for the elementary, middle and high schools and a superintendent update covering several operational items. The elementary enrollment was reported as 317 students, the middle school as 184 and the high school as 223, for a total district enrollment of 724. Administrators noted that HB 1416 Beginning-Of-Year testing hours for math and reading began Aug. 26.
The superintendent’s report also covered upcoming professional events and local operational items: the TASA/TASB convention is scheduled for Sept. 27–29 in San Antonio, the district calendar edition date was moved to Nov. 27, a DVA visit is scheduled for Oct. 1, and updates were given on baseball and softball field construction and on an ongoing demographic study. Financial and cash-flow reports were reviewed by administrative staff during the meeting.
