"If I'm coming up here and dodging stuff, I want to make sure that I've actually looked at it and made sure that it's okay," Polk said, and noted both lists had been posted for 30 days with no review requests. The November list included 287 different titles and the December list included 119 titles, Polk said. Trustees thanked Polk for the time invested in vetting materials and approved the purchases by motion.
Trustees emphasized to the audience that the district is taking selection and review seriously following previous controversies and that public access to lists and the review process will continue.
