FEMA introduces local liaison for DR-4806 outreach

A FEMA intergovernmental congressional-affairs specialist, Lashara Lisi, introduced herself as the point of contact for citizen inquiries related to disaster declaration DR-4806 and described the role of disaster-survivor assistance teams in canvassing neighborhoods and helping residents apply for individual assistance. Lashara Lisi said the county and FEMA should coordinate on targeted canvassing and that she will work with elected officials and, optionally, with the county emergency manager.
Commissioners welcomed FEMA’s presence and suggested coordination with the county emergency manager and county staff to ensure outreach reaches neighborhoods that may be missed by broad outreach campaigns. The board encouraged FEMA to follow up with local contacts and to work with county communications for targeted outreach and assistance.
