State intends to fund $4.6 million in improvements to Hidden Beaches water system, city says

Finance Director Elms told the council staff had pursued funding from the State Division of Financial Assistance for improvements to the Hidden Beaches water system and said the division "intends to fund $4.6 million" for a reservoir, well and new treatment facilities. Elms said once the funding agreement is fully executed the city can begin expending funds on the project.
Council received the announcement as part of oral reports; no formal council action was recorded at the May 12 meeting. Staff will proceed with executing the funding agreement and return to council with necessary project documents and a timeline for implementation.
