Omak council approves interlocal inspection agreement with Okanogan County after county raises hourly rate

The Omak City Council on Jan. 20 approved Resolution 10-2026, renewing an interlocal agreement with Okanogan County for building inspection and plan review services to cover staff training, vacation or sick leave. "This is an annual agreement with Okanogan County to cover inspections when he is away on training, vacation or sick leave," Building Official Tyler Wells told the Council.
Wells noted the county has increased its hourly rate "from $150 to $200," and said the cost is already included in the 2026 budget. Member Steve Clark moved to approve the resolution; Member Barry Freel seconded the motion and the Council voted unanimously to adopt the interlocal agreement.
