Resident seeks stop-work order on Highlands Long-Plat, cites Omak code

At the Feb. 2 meeting, resident Andrew Bosco pressed the council to halt work on the Highlands Long-Plat, citing Omak Municipal Code section OMC 19.05.040 and raising concerns about property owner notification, a ten percent road grade, easements and potential impacts to his septic system and private well. "He asked the Council to direct the Building Official to issue a Stop Work Order until the legal and engineering defects are cured," the minutes state.
Bosco said he had contacted neighbors who also objected to the road design and asked for council intervention rather than allowing the plat review to proceed without correcting the alleged defects. The minutes record the request but show no council directive or vote on a stop-work order during the meeting.
