The board approved the purchase of a district list of roughly 125 library titles after a public hearing in which the campus librarian described the selection and vetting process. Miss Polk told trustees the list had been posted for 30 days with no public comments and that the titles are mostly new releases or additions to series the district already uses.
Miss Polk said the process follows district selection criteria and the district's policy in response to recent state law changes. "The list has, like, 125 items on it. Most of them are new releases," she told the board. Trustees discussed the plan to streamline approvals and reduce the number of times books are brought to the board once the procedure is established; Justin Colley moved to approve the purchase, Kelvin Raven seconded, and the motion carried.
