Master Gardeners say Ocean Shores garden tour drew about 300 and will fund a demonstration garden

Terry Small, representing the Master Gardeners, thanked the City of Ocean Shores and the LTAC committee for funding and described the group's recent garden tour and demonstration garden plans.
"We really appreciate the support from Ocean Shores from the city and from the LTAC committee," Terry said, noting the tour drew about 300 people and that survey cards indicate attendees came from as far as Utah and Olympia. Terry said proceeds will help build out a demonstration garden adjacent to the library that will host workshops and plant clinics.
Terry acknowledged lower-than-expected attendance compared with the group's 2019 Ocean Shores tour (about 475 tickets sold that year) and attributed the decline to higher travel costs and post-COVID economic changes. Committee members suggested collecting clearer ZIP-code data on survey cards to improve tracking of out-of-town visitor impacts.
