The HUTTO ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2026–27 maintenance and operations budget, the 2026–27 debt service (interest & sinking) budget, and the 2026–27 Child Nutrition (food service) budget at the June 25 meeting after staff presented each item and trustees confirmed prior budget workshops and a public hearing earlier that day.
As part of the Child Nutrition action, staff explained the district maintains a positive fund balance that allows a modest student-lunch price increase of 10 cents rather than a larger paid‑lunch‑equity adjustment. Trustees approved setting student lunch prices for the 2026–27 school year at $3.10 for pre-K through 5th grade and $3.35 for grades 6 through 12. Staff emphasized the district will continue universal free breakfast and encouraged families to complete free/reduced meal applications if eligible. "We will continue to provide universal free breakfast," a district representative stated during budget discussion.
Trustees noted the budgets were the product of multiple workshops beginning in February and a public hearing earlier on June 25; the board called the motions and approved each budget by voice vote.
