Kentucky to invest $6.9M in Pine Mountain State Resort Park; Green River Lake campsites reopen after flooding

Governor Beshear announced a $6.9 million renovation for Pine Mountain State Resort Park to begin next spring, listing upgrades to lodge rooms, renovated bathrooms, new flooring and mini fridges, and improvements to the restaurant, lobby, convention center and meeting rooms. "Starting next spring, Pine Mountain State Resort Park will receive a $6,900,000 renovation," Beshear said.
A separate video segment and remarks outlined a phased reopening at Green River Lake State Park following last year’s historic flooding. Beshear said 73 primitive campsites have reopened and that major construction to rebuild campgrounds and upgrade electrical service at every campsite is scheduled to begin in November, with full reopening next spring. The administration directed viewers to parks.ky.gov for additional details and reservations.
Officials said cottages and some amenities will remain available during renovations and emphasized the economic and recreational importance of parks to local communities.
