Hutto ISD says supports were provided and rebuts claims of cheating on Wayground

Dr. Wasser, the district's executive director of talent management, told trustees the board was hearing a grievance about performance documentation and the termination of a probationary contract. She said the district provided multiple supports throughout the year — coaching, team teaching and growth plans — and that walk‑throughs and campus observations documented ongoing classroom‑management problems.
On the issue of alleged cheating, district witnesses described the Wayground application as a formative tool that gives students feedback (a warm‑up and an exit ticket), not a mechanism of grade inflation. "That is not at all cheating. That is performative assessment providing feedback to students as they learn math," Dr. Wasser said. The district concluded that, based on observations, student perception data and administrative input, termination of the probationary contract was recommended and the board earlier had acted in the district's stated best interest.
