Board reviews curriculum rollouts as state testing releases begin

Tish, reporting on curriculum, told the board the Ohio State tests for science, math and social studies were released last week and that English language arts results were released the day of the meeting. She said district staff will analyze the data and return with findings at the next regular board meeting.
Tish also reviewed specific curriculum work: K–2 report-card revisions that will feed into Gradebook, completion of K–5 science curriculum training for teachers (Bring Science Alive) and rollout of the new middle-school ELA curriculum (Amplify grades 6–8). She noted the district’s current K–3 diagnostic (i-Ready) is not on the state-approved assessment list and that final outcomes may depend on Senate Bill 19, which could change the state’s assessment list.
"There will be more to come at next month's board meeting, as they sift through that data and interpret it," Tish said of the forthcoming analysis. The board indicated it will continue monitoring state-level decisions and expected timelines for guidance and possible curriculum adjustments.
The district said initial professional-learning scheduling is set for next year and that principals and teachers will use updated budgeting tools to manage classroom resources during implementation.
