During the Sept. 9 meeting the Burleson ISD Board of Trustees honored several student accomplishments. Director of Special Education Amelia McMillen and Chief of Staff Dr. Mikala Hill recognized Burleson Blaze athletes who placed at the state Special Olympics, listing multiple gold and silver medals and top-8 finishes across events.
Mr. Coby Morrison noted archery qualifiers — Rhett Arledge (13th at the state qualifier out of 2,120, qualified for nationals), Greer Ribinskas (135th out of 1,789, qualified for nationals) and Colt McDonald (40th at state, 63rd out of 497 at nationals). Dr. Stacia Pearce announced students who earned AP Capstone Diplomas and AP Scholar with Distinction honors, naming graduates and current students recognized by the College Board.
