Burleson ISD board sets 2024–25 tax rate at $1.2552 per $100

The Burleson Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Sept. 9 to adopt a total tax rate of $1.2552 per $100 of valuation for the 2024–25 year.
Board documents show the Maintenance & Operations rate will be set at $0.7552 and the Interest & Sinking rate will remain $0.5000, producing the $1.2552 total. The district reported that the Johnson and Tarrant County Appraisal Districts certified the 2024 appraisal roll before the vote. Meeting materials stated the adopted rate does not exceed the voter-approval (rollback) rate but does exceed the no-new-revenue (effective) rate of $1.2259.
During the motion to set the rate, board member Michael Ancy moved to adopt the $1.2552 rate; Ryan Richardson seconded. The motion passed with six yeas and no nays. The district noted the proposed rate represents a $0.0023 decrease from the prior year’s $1.2575 total rate but described the action as an effective 2.39 percent increase in the tax rate per the notice to taxpayers.
The board reviewed financial statements showing that, as of the July 2024 report, the district had collected approximately 0% of budgeted revenues and expended about 3% of General Fund budgeted expenditures. The board did not record further tax-related adjustments at this meeting.
