Burleson ISD board grants president temporary authority to approve hires

The Burleson Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 12 to grant the board president temporary authority to approve new hires until the board’s next regular meeting in September. The motion, made by Mr. Shawn Minor and seconded by Mr. Michael Ancy, carried 7–0.
Mr. Minor moved that the board "grant the Board President the authority to approve new hires between now and the next Regular meeting in September," a motion the board approved and said it would consider ratification of those hires at the next meeting. The action followed a closed session that listed personnel matters among its topics. The board did not identify specific positions in public session.
The board’s vote provides an interim administrative measure so personnel decisions can proceed before the September meeting. The board record shows the motion passed with the following votes: Yeas — Michael Ancy, Staci Eisner, Jerri McNair, Shawn Minor, Dallas Owen, Ryan Richardson, and Pat Worrell; Nays — none.
