The Parks & Recreation Commission opened its Aug. 5 meeting by approving the minutes of the July 1, 2026 meeting and accepting the revenues-and-expenditures report by voice votes.
The commission took several substantive actions later in the meeting. After a staff report about an extended-stay request filed on behalf of Brad Olsen, a commissioner moved "to deny the request" and the motion carried. The commission also approved a recommendation to send the preferred online reservation vendor (referred to in the staff packet as "my site") to city counsel for review and approved policy changes that remove shelter-house deposits, require renter acknowledgement of damage responsibility, and end first-come/first-served campsite access effective Jan. 1, 2027.
