Elementary Principal Mrs. Thorn told the board elementary students are gearing up for STAAR testing and that third‑grade teacher Bobbie Bellamy received the Buddy Low Excellence in Education Award. Thorn also reported that staff completed training with Instruction Partners and listed upcoming elementary events including the county show, Special Olympics and Easter egg hunts.
High School Principal Mrs. Holloway reported Broaddus High administered the ACT and said junior-high GT students are planning an end-of-year trip to Galveston after completing projects through the year to earn the trip. Holloway also noted that baseball, softball and track seasons have started and that prom is scheduled at the end of the month.
Both principals' reports were presented as informational updates; no board action was taken on these items. The reports highlight student assessment schedules, extracurricular activities and a teacher recognition award.
