Lyndon Station fire chief reports higher response hours, training planned for Feb. 16

Fire Chief Troy Madland told trustees the department has logged 231 hours year-to-date compared with 126.5 hours at the same point last year. During the past month the department responded to six calls totaling 110 hours, including a large structure fire. Chief Madland said six officers are scheduled to attend state-required training beginning Feb. 16 in New Lisbon; some class costs will be covered by state funding.
Chief Madland also raised administrative matters: gas cards were not working at the gas station and Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Klein will work with the chief to resolve the issue. He asked about using Village Hall for 4‑H meetings; the board will consider that request at the next meeting.
