Following an executive session on Feb. 26, Mayor Charles Griego recommended three candidates and the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve each hire. The council approved Narciso Martin Holguin for Transfer Station Truck Driver (motion moved by Councilor Runyon, seconded by Councilor Chavez), Issac Sanchez for Firefighter/EMT (moved by Councilor Romero, seconded by Councilor Runyon), and Micah Bogue as a Certified Police Officer (moved by Councilor Ortiz, seconded by Councilor Runyon). Each motion carried 4-0.
Council authorized staff to complete hiring steps and onboarding for each candidate; the approvals followed an executive session held under NMSA 1978 Section 10-15-1(H) to discuss personnel matters. No public objections or alternate candidates were recorded in the public transcript.
Why it matters: The hires fill operational positions in public works, fire and police departments and will affect staffing and service delivery in the village.
