Bonham ISD presented a series of staff and student recognitions during the board meeting. Tracy Foster, identified in the transcript as principal at Bailey English, presented Joanne Lancaster as employee of the month and recounted Lancaster’s 26 years with the district, rare absences despite undergoing surgery and cancer treatment, leadership roles and strong peer praise.
Multiple campuses also recognized students of the month. Carly Fowler introduced Keegan Lively as student of the month from Stelios Elementary; an assistant principal presented Serenity Champini from Evans and described her hobbies, supporters and advice for younger students. At Bonham High and Autumn High, principals highlighted seniors such as Tegan Williams and Cortland Stevens for leadership, community values and extracurricular participation. The band director also recognized 11 students who earned top ratings at the UIL code ensemble competition and qualified for state competition at the end of May.
Board members and administrators thanked staff and families for their support; the recognitions emphasized student leadership, perseverance and the district’s focus on well-rounded activities.
