Canutillo ISD held a public hearing Sept. 10 on the 2024–2025 property tax rate and received a presentation of tax information from district staff member Cristy Pulley.
During the hearing trustees questioned how the previously approved defeasance payment affects total outstanding debt on prior bonds and asked for estimated final numbers. Pulley told trustees the figures are not finalized until February 2025 and noted the district authorized making an extra payment toward total debt. The minutes record that after the hearing the board approved a resolution which officially levies the tax rate for the FY2025 school year; the motion was made by Mrs. Trout and seconded by Mrs. Mendoza.
The minutes do not include the numerical tax rate, rollback calculations, or the certified property value used to set the rate; Pulley indicated the final numbers would be available in February 2025. The board’s action to adopt the resolution makes the levy official pending any statutorily required filings and certifications.
