Canutillo ISD staff presented a Lone Star Governance update focused on student outcomes for College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR). Presenters Richard Moore and Jessica Arellano explained current district efforts and answered trustees' questions about readiness measures.
Trustee Lucy Borrego asked whether Canutillo High School (CHS) offers TSI preparatory classes; Trustee Trout asked whether bootcamps are offered online or only in person. Moore clarified that bootcamp offerings are available in both formats. The board requested the percentage of college-ready students and a breakdown of TSI reading, writing and math performance; Trustee Borrego asked for those percentage figures to be provided in the Thursday packet.
Trustees also asked for a graphic representation showing how TEA ratings relate to district performance and for information on how campuses promote military readiness. No formal action was taken; the presentation generated follow-up requests for data and graphics.
