Carrizo Springs CISD board adopts 2024-25 budget, accepts proposed tax rates

The Carrizo Springs Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted the district's 2024-2025 proposed budget at its Aug. 20 meeting. The motion to approve the budget was made by Al Doria and seconded by Wilbur Cruz; the vote was 7-0 in favor.
At the same meeting trustees also accepted the No-New-Revenue tax rate and the Voter-Approval tax rate for tax year 2024 and approved Resolution 2024-07 to adopt the proposed tax rate in two parts: the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) rate and the Interest & Sinking (I&S) rate. Jeffrey Ortiz moved to accept the tax rates and Juan Cruz seconded; the motion carried 7-0.
The actions followed a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rate presented earlier by Anna Diaz. Board minutes record that trustees also approved related budget amendments for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 fiscal years (BA 20240801, BA 20240802 and BA 20240804) during the meeting.
