The board recognized Canton ISD employees of the month and campus Teachers of the Year, and celebrated numerous student achievements including state and UIL qualifiers in band, choir, speech and debate, filmmaking and fishing. The district also honored retirees Matthew Loughmiller (26 years at Canton ISD) and Tracy Tidwell (28 years at Canton ISD).
The recognitions named dozens of students who qualified for state events and competitions. District Teacher of the Year Leslie Corey (Canton High School) was singled out by the board. The item was presented as an information/recognition block with no action required.
