Canton ISD trustees approve consent agenda, curriculum and routine contracts

At its April 20 meeting the Canton ISD Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda and multiple agenda items that required formal votes.
On a motion by Josh Wilkerson, seconded by Jack Thelen, the Board approved the consent agenda (minutes of March 16, 2026; financial status and budget reports; tax collection report; and quarterly investment report). Subsequent agenda motions approved the 2026–27 adoption of all state-adopted textbooks (motion by Dr. Leslea Evans), trustee continuing education disclosure (motion by Jack Thelen), renewal of special education legal services (motion by Catherine Irwin), the proposed K–5 reading curriculum for 2026–27 (motion by Jack Thelen), a revised list of library materials, required reporting under Senate Bill 546 on school bus three-point seat belt costs (motion by Dr. Leslea Evans), and the revised Technology Plan 2026–2031 (motion by Jack Thelen). Each of these motions carried by a 6–0 vote as recorded in the minutes.
