Elementary Principal Mrs. Thorn told trustees that attendance and enrollment are both up and that PreK registration had a large turnout. "Tutorials have ended and STAAR test is next week," she said, and she noted an "excellent turnout for the Easter Egg Hunt." Mrs. Thorn said many field trips and end-of-year activities are planned after testing concludes.
High School Principal Mrs. Holloway reported successes in extracurriculars and academic competitions: Broaddus students performed well at the County Show, Jr. High and High School placed at the top in district track meets with many high school students advancing to area competition, and 13 students will compete in Academic UIL regional competition at Blinn. She said the district expects strong STAAR scores based on preparation.
The reports focused on student participation, end-of-year planning and upcoming testing; no significant policy changes or requests for board action were recorded in the transcript.
