Board proposes mid-contract termination and suspension of middle school teacher; approves separation agreement with athletic director

Following closed-session discussion under Texas Government Code, the board returned to open session and approved several personnel actions. On a motion by Casey Lout, seconded by James Ragan, the board moved to "propose mid-contract termination of Sinhue Noriega’s probationary contract and ... authorize the administration to provide notice to Mr. Sinhue Noriega;" the motion carried 7–0. On a separate motion (Casey Lout; seconded by Gregg Hubbard), the board also moved to "propose suspension without pay of Sinhue Noriega’s probationary contract pending termination" and authorized administration to provide notice; that motion passed 7–0.
The board accepted resignations recommended by Superintendent Jake Henson (Anna Bryant, FLM counselor; Donny Johnson, CHS teacher) on a motion by Casey Lout and seconded by Cody Miller (vote 7–0). The board also approved a separation agreement with Nicholas Brown, the district Athletic Director, and authorized the superintendent and legal counsel to finalize the agreement (motion by Casey Lout, seconded by Josh Burns; voted 7–0). The minutes state no action was taken during closed session.
