The minutes note that Swendson began as an intern, later helped build the county computer network and has “put in a lot of hard work” over two decades.

Smith and his colleagues commented on Swendson’s performance, noting that he has been responsive when contacted about technology problems and that he has helped the county navigate more complicated technology and cybersecurity issues. Commissioner Jocelyn Cramer singled out Swendson’s role during COVID-era operations and cybersecurity work.
