Chris Brown told the board the county won a countywide pro‑housing technical assistance grant that will fund an abandoned‑building study and legal services; he said the award letter arrived toward the end of February and the county is awaiting the state contract. "The county won that grant. We got the award letter towards end of February, and then we've been waiting for the contract in the state for some some time," Brown said.
Brown said he and staff are finalizing an RFP for contractor services once the state sends the contract. He also said the county has extended his assignment through the end of July so he can overlap with his successor and help the Columbia County Housing Task Force recruit community liaisons—one representative for each town, village and the city of Hudson—to improve countywide representation and communication.
Board members thanked Brown for the update and praised early interjurisdictional housing‑committee efforts aimed at coordinating across towns and villages.
