Office for the Aging wins approval for fair contract, meal-packaging extension and respite expansion

Office for the Aging staff also reported a signed contract with Saint James Church to expand a respite center, preliminary meetings with libraries and towns to explore service expansion, and outreach tours of the meal-kitchen by potential volunteers. The office said roughly 32 caregivers attended a recent caregiver forum and that volunteer coordinators are organizing meetings to improve volunteer connections.
A committee member and staff clarified the precise contract-option dates for Oliver Packaging (the extension option would put maximum contract date at July 2028 if exercised in sequence). No procurement objections were recorded during the voice votes approving the items.
