Committee to post county resilience plan and urge resident participation in evacuation planning

Committee members reviewed a resilience planning effort (grant‑funded) focusing on wildfire and flood evacuation for Rancho Murrieta and discussed district participation. Members said the plan—developed by county staff and consultants—aims to map evacuation routes and procedures and to account for the community's constrained exit capacity (two controlled gates) so responders can shepherd traffic in an emergency.

"They're putting together this resilience program to figure out ways to get people out of Rancho Murrieta in an emergency," a committee member said, noting the planning covers fire and flood scenarios. The committee discussed posting the plan and meeting notices on the district website and Facebook so residents could follow and attend community sessions; staff agreed to add links and articles online.

Members emphasized that county or highway agencies would control roadway management once people reached the gates and that community volunteers alone could not direct traffic in a major evacuation. The committee asked staff to confirm whether the grant is county or state funded and to publicize upcoming session dates and locations.
