Principals report testing, CTE activities and summer planning at Broaddus ISD meeting
Summary
Elementary and Jr./High School principals updated trustees on testing status and programs; superintendent reported district selections and summer work-hour start date.
Elementary Principal Mrs. Thorn told the board that all testing is complete and that the district is awaiting scores; she also reported that UIL students celebrated with a day of putt-putt and games and that graduation and end-of-year ceremonies would occur next week.
Jr. High/High School Principal Mrs. Holloway described recent events including an eighth-grade CTE night to support the transition to high school, a National Honor Society induction of six students, and a CTE 'Cupcake Wars' project. Mrs. Holloway also relayed the athletic department's thanks for board support of sports programs.
Superintendent Mr. Holloway added district-level context, saying administrators recently attended a Region VII showcase and that "BISD has been randomly selected to participate in the 2026-2027 District Vulnerability Assessment (DVA) process." He noted that summer work hours begin May 27, 2026.
